OdO privacy policy

OdO is a local-first mileage tracker for tax time. This policy applies to the OdO mobile apps on iPhone and Android and the get-odo.com website, and explains how trip data, location, saved places, exports, website analytics choices, and future optional beacon data are handled.

Last updated June 8, 2026.

Core privacy promise

OdO stores mileage records on your device. The app does not require an account for the core mileage log, does not upload trip history to OdO servers, does not sell personal information, and does not track you across apps or websites. Website analytics stay off unless you allow them.

Information stored on your device

  • Trip dates, times, distances, classifications, notes, and review status.
  • Route points and start/end locations recorded during a mileage trip.
  • Saved places such as Home, Work, and business locations.
  • Vehicle labels and, if enabled in a future release, optional USB beacon pairing details.
  • Export data generated locally when you choose to export. OdO Plus adds PDF reports.

On Android, saved-place address lookup is optional and user-triggered. If you ask OdO to find coordinates for a typed address, or to fill an empty address after capturing your current location, Android's geocoder may be used. OdO then stores the saved-place name, address, radius, and coordinates locally on the device for trip matching.

Location and Bluetooth

OdO uses device location to record mileage trips that you start manually or enable through OdO Plus automation. The Android app uses foreground location and a visible foreground-service notification for phone auto-tracking, and does not request Android background-location permission. Where a platform supports continued trip recording while the app is not visible, that access is used only while trip recording or an enabled automation feature is active.

Future optional beacon features may use Bluetooth when the related hardware automation feature is enabled. The current Android launch build does not request Bluetooth permission.

Local reminders

OdO may use local iOS or Android notifications to remind you to review unfinished trips. These reminders are created from your local review queue and do not require OdO to upload trip history, route points, saved places, or classifications to a server.

Exports and sharing

OdO generates mileage exports on your device. An export leaves the app only when you choose to share or save it through iOS or Android sharing controls. You are responsible for the destination you choose, such as Files, Drive, Mail, Messages, or another app. OdO Plus adds PDF reports for reviewed mileage records.

Subscriptions and app stores

If you buy OdO Plus, Apple or Google processes the purchase through the store account you use on that device. OdO uses the store purchase status to unlock paid features such as phone auto-tracking and PDF reports. OdO does not receive your full payment card details from Apple or Google.

Founding driver applications

If you apply for the OdO Founding Driver Program by email, website form, Meta lead form, or a similar channel, OdO may collect application details such as your name, email address, country, phone model, work-driving category, driving frequency, current mileage method, and feedback.

OdO uses that information to review eligibility, contact testers, send install links and instructions, administer any founding-driver offer, and improve the product. Application information may be processed through tools such as Meta, Google Workspace, and email services. OdO does not sell this information.

Website analytics and cookies

The get-odo.com website stores your cookie preference locally in the browser. Essential preferences are used to remember whether you chose essential-only or analytics-enabled browsing.

If you choose to allow analytics, OdO may use privacy-conscious website analytics to measure page views and clicks on download, founding-driver application, and support links. These events may include page URL, referrer, approximate device or browser details, and the clicked call-to-action source. Website analytics do not include mileage trips, route points, saved places, exports, or precise app location data.

You can change this choice from the website cookie settings button. Choosing essential-only prevents OdO marketing analytics from starting in the browser.

Deleting local data

OdO includes a local data deletion control. Deleting local data removes locally stored trips, saved places, vehicles, report state, and active recording state from the app on that device.

Future optional cloud features

If OdO later adds optional cloud backup, account sync, support uploads, or server-generated reports, this policy and the App Store or Google Play privacy answers will be updated before those features are shipped.
